Scheduled sending of email messages

During a bulk emailing campaign, when several messages should be sent to subscribers, it is often required that emails are sent out upon expiration of an exactly defined period of time after each other. Suppose you need to send several emails with a pause of 3 days between them strictly at midnight (if your customers live in a different timezone, for example). To send out emails in time, you will need an organizer and the physical capacity to do it exactly at the required point of time.

To avoid sending emails at midnight and not to forget about it at all, the easiest way out is to use scheduled emailing. Compose the text of the message, choose the date and time, select the recipients, and proceed to the rest of your work – your message will be automatically sent exactly at the specified time.

In order to use scheduled emailing in WebAsyst Mail, first create a new message (menu item "Compose message" or "Message... -> Compose new...", or use a previously prepared template with "Message... -> Create from template..."). Then enter recipients' email addresses in the "To" field or (recommended) select subscriber lists by clicking on the "Lists" link.

To specify the date and time for scheduled emailing, click on "Schedule later sending" at the page bottom. In the fields that will appear, select the date and time when your message should be sent out and click on "Send". The message will not be sent right away, it will be first saved in the "Pending" folder till the specified date and time. After the message is sent to all recipients, it is automatically moved to the "Sent" folder.

Note: If PHP scripts of the WebAsyst Mail application are installed on your own server, correct functioning of scheduled emailing requires that the so-called cron job is set up. Users of the WebAsyst online services do not need to perform additional setup.
Tip: Should you need to edit the text, recipients' addresses or the sending time/date of the message, open folder "Pending" and click on the message subject in the list on the right. When the message opens, click on "Cancel sending and save as a draft". This will move the message to the "Drafts" and will not allow it to be sent out until you repeatedly click on "Send".
