From which email address will my customers receive replies to their requests?

Your replies to customers' requests appear in their mail boxes as regular email messages sent from a certain address. That address depends on the method used by the customer for sending requests.

  1. A request was received by email

    The address at which the customer request was received will be used in the "From"field of your reply.

  2. A request was received via a web form

    In the settings of each web form you may select an email associated with that form (under the "After submit" tab). Replies to requests received via a form will be sent from the email address selected in that form's settings.

  3. A request was received from a customer's online account

    In the settings of each email address and web form there is a language selection list. The language which you choose there will be be assigned to all customers who would send their first request to WebAsyst Help Desk. In section "Settings -> Email boxes" you can also select one of the set up email addresses as default for each language. Replies to requests received from a customer's online account will be sent to the customer from the email address which is selected as default for that customer's language.

If you have not set up any email addresses in WebAsyst Help Desk, the "From" address for your replies to requests received via a web form or from a customer's online account will be retrieved from the locations listed below.

  1. For users of the WebAsyst online services email address robot@webasyst.net will be used.
  2. For owners of the PHP scripts:
    • If you have specified the "Robot Email Address" in section "Installer -> Settings -> General Settings", that address will be used.
    • Otherwise the email address specified for the "sendmail_from" parameter in the PHP configuration file php.ini will be used (this value is only used if no SMTP connection credentials have been specified in section "Installer -> Settings -> General Settings").
    Note: If you have not set up email addresses in WebAsyst Help Desk nor have specified SMTP connection credentials or the correct value in the "Robot Email Address" field in WebAsyst Installer, then no messages may be sent or delivered from your WebAsyst account. If this happens, please configure at least one of the above mentioned parameters by complying with your web-hosting provider's requirements.
