Selling digital products

Along with ordinary products, with WebAsyst Shop-Script you can also sell digital products, i.e. downloadable files that a customer can obtain after purchase using a special link (e.g. MP3 audio or image files).

To add a digital product to your catalog, create a new product as usual, enable the "This product is downloadable" option in the "Other details" section of the product properties and upload the file to the server. Select the period (expressed in days) during which the ordered product will be available for downloading, and the number of attempts the customer may make to download the purchased digital products.

After ordering such a product a customer will receive an email notification with a link that should be used to download the purchased product. If the customer clicks on the link and receives the following message in the browser "Access to file denied (order is not paid)", it means that the order has not been processed by the online store administrator.

To make the ordered digital product available for downloading, the store administrator must change its status to "Paid & Delivered". To change the order status, open backend section "Orders -> Orders", then the order details page and click on the "Paid & Delivered" button. Immediately after that the purchased digital products become available for downloading.

Tip: the order status can be automatically changed to "Paid & Delivered", if the customer has selected one of the payment methods listed below. In that case the customer will be able to  download the purchased digital product without having to wait for the order to be manually processed by the store administrator.
