Protecting access to a published book with a password

Without additional setup, a book created and published by means of WebAsyst Pages is accessible for any Internet user who knows its URL. However, if a book contains confidential information or is otherwise intended for a limited readership, access to such a book should be protected with a password. A protected book can only be accessed by your WebAsyst account users. For that, they will have to enter their login name and a password.

Tip: Access to password-protected books is granted to all account users irrespective of the access rights assigned, including access to the WebAsyst Pages administrative backend or any specific book in the account. Thus, in order to allow a user to read a protected book, granting him or her access to that book from within the account is not required.

To make a book password-protected, select menu item "Book... -> Publication Setup". On the page that opens enable option "User authorization required" and click on "Save".
