    adding pages

    Organize pages into a book

Every page belongs to a book. The Contents page of each book is represented as structured tree. Pages can be moved and copied within this structure. You can create a new page at the root level of the book or as a sub-page of an existing page. WebAsyst Pages allow you to organize page hierarchy. When editing books, you can always reorganize pages within as necessary.

    Publishing books

When your book is ready, it needs to be published. This is done by marking it as “published” in book properties, and selecting the presentation template to be used. The book contents can then be accessed via direct links without readers having to login to the system.

    publishing web-books

Each book has its own link which can be emailed or published on any web page. When accessed, it will open the book contents in a new window.

Presentation style of the book depends on the publication theme chosen. WebAsyst Pages contains several predefined themes to select from, or you can create your own theme.

    customizing publication theme

    Collaborate with your co-authors

Your WebAsyst account has a “Users” directory, where you can create new users and give them access rights to separate books in your account. Every user will have a personal login and password to enter the system. Once inside, users may access only those parts to which they have been given access.

WebAsyst Pages allows separate setup of access rights to each book. There are several levels of access rights which may be assigned:

    • Read — user can see list of pages and view their contents
    • Write — in addition to Read functions, user can edit, add, delete and publish book's pages
    • Full — all of the above and the ability to mark entire book as published or delete it

    User groups and access rights

It is often necessary to assign identical access rights to a number of users at one time, based on their role within a team or organization. WebAsyst offers powerful capabilities to do so. This simplifies system management where there are a large number of users from different departments or branches.

Instead of giving necessary rights to each individual user, simply create a group, specify its access rights, and then add member users to the group. Every user will inherit access rights that were set up for the group.

Each user can be a member of several groups and can have his own specifically set permissions. Effective rights will be a combination of personal and group rights of the user.
